From Grassroots to the Fairgrounds: Our Journey to Gold Star Family Festival

Wow. We’ve come a long way.

What started as a heartfelt idea to honor Gold Star Families and their heroes has grown into something we never could’ve imagined when we first kicked this off. And now—here we are—getting ready to bring the Gold Star Family Festival to life at the St. Johns County Fairgrounds this September.

It’s more than just a new venue. It’s a milestone.
It’s more than just a new venue. It’s a milestone.

We’ve been building this festival from the ground up, one show at a time, driven by a mission that means the world to us. It hasn’t always been easy. We've had setbacks, steep learning curves, and plenty of moments that tested our patience. But we’ve also had incredible people step in to help, believe in the cause, and push us forward. We’ve learned what works—and what doesn’t.

One thing you should know: we’re festival people, too. We’ve stood in the same lines, waited on those same dusty shuttle rides, walked into overpriced food courts, and dealt with sound systems that were just... meh. So when we say we want to create the kind of festival we’d actually want to attend, we mean it. We’re keeping the magic, the music, and the community—and tossing the rest.

The Gold Star Family Festival will bring together great live music, local culture, camping, and a deep sense of purpose. We're not here to throw just another weekend party—we're here to create something meaningful, something you’ll remember, and something Gold Star Families will carry in their hearts.

We’ll be sharing more updates soon—lineups, vendors, behind-the-scenes builds, and how this whole thing comes together. But for now, we just want to say: thank you for being part of the journey. Whether you’ve supported us since year one or just found us today, we’re so glad you're here.

Let’s make this the best one yet. Please share the information about attending the festival or helping us with donations to ensure we can give people the best experience and entertainment possible.

See you in September.
